Angela is a Bachelor of Health Sciences graduate and her interest in the health sector grew during her studies, particularly in the areas of mental health. She completed her university placement at Coeliac New Zealand in the final year of her degree and had the opportunity to work part time at the office. She looks forward to learning more about coeliac disease and gaining new experiences with the CNZ team
In October 2017, CNZ engaged the services of BBR to look after our financial operations. BBR work closely with CNZ accountants and auditors to ensure a complete, transparent and accountable financial operational system is in place for CNZ and that we have a continual desire to improve and streamline our systems to meet the needs of members, customers, suppliers and regulators.
Caitlin VealeMy name is Caitlin and I am currently studying a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Communications at the University of Auckland. Alongside being an active social media user, I have a passion for community projects. I am currently on the governance committee for my local community centre, and volunteering for Coeliac New Zealand over summer will be a great way for me to further those interests, and put my time and efforts to good use. Bring on the challenge!
Sophie's desire to volunteer for Coeliac NZ stems from her experiences of supporting her sister and friends who suffer from the disease. She is excited to use her prior experience in social media and journalism to support the organisation, and to learn more about how she can help others. In her spare time she enjoys playing the piano, experimenting in the kitchen, and learning Spanish.
CNZ's commitment toward not only supporting those with Coeliac Disease, but also funding future research is what made me want to get involved with the organisation. As a Public Relations major, I dreamed of doing something meaningful, and I'm excited to be a part of something so ground breaking. Coeliac Disease affects many New Zealanders, including within my family, so it's important to me that through education, we continue to spread the message of hope and togetherness.
